Submission of an abstract constitutes agreement with publication of the abstract, if accepted, in the SSDV congress special edition of Dermatologica Helvetica. Your abstract will be printed as submitted.
Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the author(s) to present, if accepted. The presenting author should be the submitting author.
Presenting authors of accepted abstracts must register for the SSDV conference
Posters submitted by companies are not considered for best poster awards (see below).
Posters submitted by companies are subject to a charge of 1,000, Swiss Francs unless it is included in your package as an exhibitor (Platin package have the right to 2 posters free of charge, Gold and Silver 1 poster, please indicate the name of the organisation) .
The platform used by SSDV is offered to you by the platform of Organizers . The submitting author will need to open a personal account. If you have submitted abstracts before using the same platform you should have a login already.
Your personal access code remains valid for future use, e.g., should you wish to edit or correct a submitted abstract or if you submit further abstracts to the SSDV conference or to any other future conference which uses Organizers as a provider. Renewed entry of your contact details will be unnecessary.
The content of Abstracts must be submitted in English, presentations of accepted abstracts may be held in German, French or English.
Please structure your abstract using the following headings for - original scientific work: Background / Objective / Results / Conclusion. - case reports/case series: Background / Observation(s) / Conclusion.
The maximum length for the abstract is 250 words. Do not add any reference, tables, charts or graphics.
Clarity of expression will be considered in the review process. The overall quality of language used should assure comprehension by the reader.
There is no limit to the number of abstracts an author may submit. Abstracts that appear to be replicate versions of a single study may be rejected.
Please limit the number of authors listed to those who have substantially contributed to the abstract. If authors’ names appear on more than one abstract, their names must appear and be spelled identically on each abstract to facilitate proper indexing. Enter every author’s name into a separate field for indexing. There will be a maximum of 10 contributed authors.
Do not use abbreviations in the title. Limit their use to commonly used abbreviations and expand all abbreviations at first mention.
After having submitted your abstract, you will receive a confirmation via e-mail with a reference number of your abstract(s), (for inquiry and correspondence purposes).
Submitted abstracts after the review process may be edited only with accordance with the SSDV. If you do not receive a confirmation, please contact us at registration@organizers.ch.
Abstracts will be subject to peer review.
Posters as PDF in A0-portrait format, (Dimensions: 84.1 x 118.9 cm) can be submitted to the deadline of 17th August 2024. Print is offered and will be coordinated by the SSDV. In you miss the deadline, the poster can be brought on site as printed version.
The format of presentation will be decided on by the scientific committee, based on the quality of the abstracts submitted.
Authors will be informed by beginning of July 2024 on the decision of the scientific committee (please make sure to state your correct email address). Detailed information on installation and presentation of posters and oral presentations will be mailed directly to authors of accepted abstracts.
A Committee delegated by the board of SSDV supervises the abstract submission and reviewing process.
All accepted abstracts will be published in the special congress edition of Dermatologica Helvetica. By submitting an abstract, the author agrees to allow publication and/or sharing over social media platforms and www.derma.swiss.
Posters will be presented online in the poster exhibition and any time accessible via the online postergallery.
Poster prizes
Please note that posters submitted by companies are not considered for best poster awards. Before the congress, juries will select posters in the following three categories:
SSDV Best Poster Award The three best posters will be honoured by the SSDV with 1,500, 1,000 and 500 Swiss francs respectively. The jury is appointed by the Scientific Committee of the organizing clinic in Basel.
Bruno Bloch Poster Prize The Bruno Bloch Foundation awards a prize for the best poster in the field of dermato-allergology. The jury is chaired by Prof. Thomas Kündig.
Urs W. Schnyer Poster Prize Every year, the U.W. Schnyder Foundation awards a poster in the field of Genodermatoses. The jury is chaired by Prof. Luca Borradori.
PDF poster A0 portrait format (84,1 x 118,9 cm) shall be uploaded latest by August 17th. In case the deadline has been missed, please bring you poster on site as printed version.

Posterwalk:
The posters will be available on a online platform as well on site in the lobby hall of the Congress Center Basel during all three congress days as poster Exhibition.
The Scientific Committee will organise a guided posterwalk to the following 3 categories:

The schedule of the posterwalks will be published at the time due in the online program.
Oral presentations
The jury decides on 5 to 6 posters to be presented during the free communication session (Workshop, Thursday, September 19th 2024, from 9am 10am).
